Finished for Christmas

Two weeks at the Lancaster Guardian are completed successfully.  On Thursday I finished the feature/splash on the opening of Royal Lancaster Infirmary’s Coronary Care Unit. Also wrote a story about a Church which could close because it owes too much money and one about a church which is raising money to restore a vintage organ.
 Friday was a [...]

Wednesday round up

This morning I finished a story about Lancaster University students who have won an award for a documentary about the local football team. View Lancaster City FC: In The Blue.

“Hi, can you put me through to your press office, please.”

Recovering pupils have commented [...]

Juts worked a week at the Lancaster Guardian. Although it’s a weekly I’ve been kept busy. I’ve got a front page by-line in the recent edition. Story about a vintage bell stolen from a farm! (It’s not online yet)
Yesterday I did a vox pop and a picture story. Today I wrote a [...]

For the next few weeks I’ll be posting about my journalism work placements. I’m three days into a two week stint at the Lancaster Guardian. It’s a very small set up in the middle of town. They produce a weekly broadsheet. On Monday I went to an inquest. On Tuesday [...]
